We Serve and Educate
Our Airmen
and their Families
About Us
The Alamo Chapter Air Force Association is apart of the greater Air Force Association program. With over 200 chapters throughout the united states, The greater Air Force Associations exist to support and advocate for our existing Airmen and foster the creation of new Airmen.
Alamo Chapter of the Air Force Association
The Alamo Chapter of the Air Force Association was founded in 1946. We enjoyed the honor of being the largest chapter in the AFA for several years and currently rank #2 of more than 200 chapters around the world with more than 3,700 members. We are an independent, civilian, nonprofit aerospace organization. The civilian designation only means that we are not officially sponsored or supported by the US Air Force, but many of our members are active duty. There is no requirement to be affiliated with the military, however, to be a member. Active, Guard, Reserve, and Civil Service may join our organization.
Our Mission
EDUCATE
Educate the public on the critical need for unmatched aerospace power and a technically superior workforce to ensure US national security.
ADVOCATE
Advocate for our Airmen, and we promote the importance of aerospace power and STEM education.
SUPPORT
We Support our Air Force family and our local communities by covering programs that promote aerospace education.
The Alamo Chapter accomplishes our mission through many programs such as:
- Scholarship programs for CCAF, Air force ROTC & JROTC.
- Earle North Parker Essay scholarship contest
- Kellogg/Loos Awards banquet honoring outstanding individuals around San Antonio
- CyberPatriot programs across San Antonio
- Wounded Airman Program events
- Supporting the Airman Heritage Museum and Foundation

We are proud to be part of the Texas AFA, which was designated the Outstanding State Organization in AFA for 2015. We also have an award-winning membership with several recipients of the Chairman’s Citation, Texas Medal of Freedom, National Medal of Merit, as well as several former national officers.
