Welcome to the Alamo Chapter website! I encourage each of you to take time to become familiar with the site and bookmark it as a favorite. We also want to ensure that it's useful for our membership, so be sure to provide feedback directly to our Webmaster. Continuous improvement is our goal.

Since joining the Alamo Chapter after arriving in San Antonio in 2005, I’ve been very impressed with the membership’s commitment to executing AFA’s three missions: Educate, Advocate and Support. In these critical times for our Air Force, it is imperative that we balance these to ensure the future of Air, Space and Cyber power in support of our national goals and objectives. One way to do this is to stay abreast of the issues affecting the Air Force and ensuring that your voice is heard. An easy way to stay informed is by getting the AFA updates via email, or by visiting the AFA website. Our senior AFA leadership has remained engaged in communicating key issues affecting our Air Force, and has worked to keep lawmakers, the media, etc., focused on the challenges we face. The AFA website is the best place to see and track those issues.

In the Alamo Chapter, we have many opportunities to make a difference for our Air Force. One way is by doing what I mentioned above--remind lawmakers of the issues and insist that the media only report facts by confining opinions and innuendos to the Op-Ed pages.  But there are many other tangible things we do to directly support our Airmen. This Chapter has done a tremendous job by raising funds that provide scholarships and other monetary support for various programs locally, as well as bases throughout AETC. By co-hosting the Air Education and Training Symposium, we are confident we have the ability to continue this level of support.  See the Defender for more information on our activities.

We are always looking for people who are ready to roll up their sleeves to make a difference. If you would like to get involved at any level in our chapter, send me an email and let me know…we’ll certainly find a spot for you!
