Welcome to the website of the Alamo Chapter of the Air Force Association. On behalf of our 3,600 members in the Alamo Chapter, I invite you to become familiar with our website. I’m certain you’ll find something of interest.
Our Alamo Chapter website is designed around the three key elements of AFA’s mission: to educate the public about the critical role of aerospace power in the defense of our nation; advocate aerospace power and a strong national defense; and support the United States Air Force, the Air Force family, and aerospace education.
You’ll find a wealth of information to include news from the Alamo Chapter, the national Air Force Association, and our United States Air Force. Read the Alamo AFA Defender News Online to find out what’s happening in our local chapter, and you can find the latest Air Force news in the Daily Report from www.airforce-magazine.com.
I invite you to become a member of the Air Force Association, and to affiliate with Alamo Chapter #234. Some people ask, “What does AFA have to offer me?” With your membership, you will receive monthly issues of AIR FORCE Magazine and are eligible for benefits provided by the AFA Veteran’s Benefit Association.
Most importantly, being a member of AFA provides you an opportunity to become part of an elite, professional organization that is focused on aerospace power, a strong national defense, and supporting our USAF and families. Locally our Alamo Chapter provides a number of educational scholarships to cadets from over 25 area high school Air Force JROTC units and ROTC detachments from the University of Texas at San Antonio and Texas State University in San Marcos. We also provide support to USAF organizations at Randolph AFB, Lackland AFB, and Brooks City-Base to recognize our outstanding Airmen (Enlisted and Officers) and Civilians from Active, Reserve and National Guard components.
I encourage you to participate in the activities of Alamo Chapter, and we welcome your involvement. Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 1600 (4:00 pm) at the USO Downtown Center, 203 W. Market St, San Antonio, TX 78205. We have an active chapter and are always in need of volunteers willing to help.
Please know that you are invited and welcome to drop in and see what the Alamo Chapter is doing.
