in the local area.

Air Force Birthday Ball, held in September
of each year:

General Looney, AETC/CC, leads planning of the Birthday Ball in partnership with
the Alamo Chapter. The 60th Birthday Ball will combine
many events and take place in September, 2007.

Awards:
The
Chapter's awards program provides recognition to a total of 125 Air
Force people, military and civilian alike, each year.
Scholarship and Educational Outreach Programs:

Earle North Parker Essay Contest and
Scholarship: $250 plus opportunity to compete for AFA-TX $3,000
award

Community College of the Air Force "Pitsenbarger"
Awards: at three bases, ANG and AFRES; $500 per award

UTSA ROTC Scholarship Program: Seven
scholarships with a total value of $2750

JROTC Scholarship Programs: $150 scholarships and
complimentary AFA Memberships to Bronze Medal winners at 16
area high schools with a total value of over $ 2700.00

Each year the Alamo Chapter and its affiliate, the Alamo AFA
Aerospace Education Foundation invests over $10,000 in
educational outreach to every level of education, primary,
