Alamo Chapter Members,

I received the note below from Mike Dunn, AFA President/CEO, asking for our help to engage local high schools about Cyber Patriot IV.  We want to make CP IV even bigger and better than this past year's highly successful CP III.

Alamo Chapter did a great job last year and recruited 26 CP teams and our own Team Mongoose from Alamo Academy, ITSA, finished in Third Place in the Open Division in the Finals Competition earlier this month.

There's a lot of great information about Cyber Patriot IV in the links below.  Please disseminate this information to anyone you know connected with a local high school and let's try to recruit 50 teams this year from our San Antonio community.

The Alamo Chapter point of contact for Cyber Patriot is Capt. Lange 24th AF.  She will be leading our effort to engage the local community.

Thanks for your continued support!

 AFA Leaders,

Building on our highly successful CyberPatriot III National Finals Competition, we have begun the push to recruit teams to next year’s exciting AFA-led National High School Cyber Defense Competition:  CyberPatriot IV!

AFA’s CyberPatriot program is already making a big difference in the lives and futures of America’s youth, and it has the potential to do even more.  Our goals for CP-IV are high:  1,250 All Service Division teams (JROTC units of all Services and Civil Air Patrol squadrons) and 1,250 Open Division teams (open to any high school).  We are sure that with your support, we will succeed in reaching that many teams, if not more.

At this link you will find our latest CyberPatriot media release:  http://multivu.prnewswire.com/mnr/afa/49361/  Note especially the excellent three and a half minute video offered on the right side of the page (turn on your computer’s speakers and click on the “>” symbol to view the video).  Please share this link with everyone you know!

We have ordered a limited number of DVDs containing the video.  You may request them by email at info@uscyberpatriot.org  The video is available also on YouTube at:  http://www.youtube.com/user/CyberPatriotAFA

We sent earlier this month hard-copy recruiting packages to each AFA Chapter, State, and Region President.  The packages contain everything needed to identify and recruit prospective JROTC, CAP, and Open Division high school teams.  I encourage you to read the entire package and to disseminate it as widely as you can.  The package is available electronically here:  http://www.uscyberpatriot.org/CP4/CP%20IV%20Documents/CyberPatriot%20IV.pdf ; feel free to send people to the link.

Although we are light-years ahead of our recruiting efforts last year, we are in a time crunch.  Schools will soon be releasing for the summer, and we must reach them before they go!  Please, please, please make this a priority!  The fact is, if you don’t engage, if you don’t recruit, and if you don’t make it happen now, few others will.  You need know NOTHING about cyber, you need know NOTHING about computers, and you need know NOTHING about CyberPatriot.  One reading of the recruiting package will give you everything you need to successfully recruit schools to this important program.

Thank you for your hard work in promoting CyberPatriot.  It has already gained national recognition for its impact on STEM education; with your continued support it will gain even more.  AFA is making a difference in American’s future—thanks to YOU!

Our CyberPatriot program office is ready to answer questions and provide materials as you need.  You can reach them at info@uscyberpatriot.org or by telephone at 703-247-5806.

Respectfully,

Mike
